Rocklyn’s 190204 performs well in Sire Evaluation

The Australian Merino Sire Evaluation Association (AMSEA) have recently released the Sire Evaluation Report for the MerinoLink 2022 Drop Yearling and Hogget Assessment at Bathurst.

Visit https://merinosuperiorsires.com.au/ to download a copy of the report.

Rocklyn's entrant in the evaluation, 190204, has performed exceptionally well in the visual and measured traits for both wool and carcase qualities.

190204 was sired by Rocklyn Poll 170184 and is plain bodied with good structure and top wool and growth rate characteristics along with exceptional ASBVs for eating quality. He is a trait leader (top 1%) for both IMF and SHEARF5.

190204 was also entered in the MLA Resource Flock, which collects traits that are harder to measure (eg. eating quality) on the progeny of sires nominated from the industry by breeders.

Other progeny from 170184 will be available at our on-property ram sale on Thursday 26th September 2024. To find out more about the sale and download our sale catalogue head to https://www.rocklynmerinostud.com.au/ram-sales
