Rocklyn holds an annual on-property ram sale in late September every year. Following this, grade rams are available through private sales.
2024 On-property Ram Sale Results
The 2024 on-property ram sale was held on Thursday 26th September. Seventy-seven of one hundred lots sold for an average of $2,200 during the sale with a few of the passed-in rams selling directly after the sale.
The top priced ram was lot 3, 230742, which sold to Padang Pastoral of Kangaira for $6,500. Padang Pastoral had been interested in the ram since seeing him at the SWS Stud Merino Breeders Field Day earlier in the month and were impressed with his figures FD 16.7, BWT 103.5Kg, YCFW 24.4, PWT 10.7, YWT 14.5.
Volume buyers included McKellar Pastoral Co taking home 13 rams for an average of $1,561, Warralong Pastoral Co with 11 for an average of $2,159, TH Cooper and Co with 10 for an average of $3,395 and GH Robertson 8 at an average of $1,625.

2021 On-Property Ram Sale Results
The 2021 on-property ram sale was held on Thursday 9th September, at 'Elon' 343 Barkers Rd Greenethorpe.
Seventy July/August 2020 Drop Merino Rams were offered in the sale, which attracted 22 registered buyers. This included 6 new buyers as well as some dedicated return buyers, which set the scene for some competitive bidding resulting in a full clearance at an average price of $3,225.
The sale was conducted by Elders Young with Aaron Seaman doing the auctioneering. This year, the poll rams were sired by Bundilla, Centre Plus, Anderson, Poll Boonoke, Wallaloo Park, Ridgway Advance, and Rocklyn sires. The horned rams were sired by Rocklyn rams. A sample of the rams sold at this year's sale is provided below.
The top price ram sold for $6,000 to Trevor Knight, bidding on behalf of HB & VJ Knight and Son from Grenfell. The ram, which was lot 10 in the sale was sired by one of Rocklyn’s own, Rocklyn Poll 180215, has excellent dual-purpose qualities and is a trait leader (top 5 %) for YCFW. With figures such as FD 17.9, SD 2.8, CF 99.7 and ASBVs of 33 for YCFW, 9.1 YWT and -0.63 EBWR and a DP+ index of 177, the Knights certainly chose well.
